Your Wedding, Your Way: Break with Tradition and Create a One-of-a-Kind Celebration You'll Never Forget Review

Your Wedding, Your Way: Break with Tradition and Create a One-of-a-Kind Celebration You'll Never Forget

So many 'personalize your wedding' articles on those big, bridal websites feel like they were written a long time ago -- they're super-basic and not very original. So when I saw that Sharon Naylor had a new book out on personalizing your wedding by adding unique spins to the usual traditions, I knew this was going to be good! This book is PACKED with terrific ideas neither I nor any of my friends had ever seen before, which is a great thing since no one wants to do what every other bride out there is doing, right? I especially liked the creative twist ideas that can be suggested to the MOMS so that they can be involved, and the ways you can bring your own love story into the wedding plans. Such a fun book! And such great ideas!

The DIY Bride: 40 Fun Projects for Your Ultimate One-of-a-Kind Wedding Review

The DIY Bride: 40 Fun Projects for Your Ultimate One-of-a-Kind Wedding

By the time we get married, my fiance and I will have been engaged for 3 years (longer than we've been dating)! We pushed the date back in order to save money to pay for this party. Had this book been available earlier, I would have gotten married sooner with all the money I would have saved! I've purchased other DIY wedding craft books, but this is by far the best! The projects are fun and hip unlike some other books that have projects that look like they are straight out of the 80's. Some of the best features of this book are (1) the resource guide in the back--it lists many different websites and stores where the materials can be purchased, (2) the money-saving clues for each project (it lists what the item would cost if you purchased it from a vendor as opposed to DIY--I love knowing that I'm saving money!), (3)skill level and time/manpower needed (it lists whether you can complete the project by yourself or if you should enlist the help of family members, maids, or fiance), (4) the step-by-step instructions with visual aides for those of us that need visual cues, and (5) the timeline in the front of the book lists when you should purchase materials needed by and what projects should be completed first. I definitely would recommend this book as I already plan to do several of the projects! GREAT BUY!

The DIY Wedding: Celebrate Your Day Your Way Review

The DIY Wedding: Celebrate Your Day Your Way

After buying some other wedding books and quickly returning I was feeling that I would be unable to find a book that was catering to my non traditional needs. I was marryed last year with my friends at city hall and on our one year aniversry I want to have the "wedding" I did not do last year with my family. I am a very creative person and was planning on utalizing that to have a low cost DIY wedding, but to tell you the truth I was totaly over whelmed and had no idea where to really start. The fun stuff like dress shopping, invitations, location, and honeymoon were taken care of but there is a lot more to this. After opening this book and reading the first couple pages I felt so much more centered and sure I could have a 60 person wedding on a $3000 budget. Like the other reviewer I would say this is the bible of wedding planning and if you are planning a small non traditional wedding this is a must!
