I recently bought this for my girlfriend to help in planning our wedding. She was thrilled with the book. There are all sorts of recipes, ideas, and easy to follow directions for the do it your selfer. I already know this book is going to save us oodles of money. I'd recommend it to anyone planning a wedding or as a gift to friends/family who are planning for one. The book was well written, thought out, and a great price!

In Herbal Weddings, author and photographer Laurel Graf has created a beautiful book filled with fascinating information on the use of herbs in a wedding celebration. The 144 page book is illustrated throughout with beautiful full-color photographs and covers topics such as the history of herbs for a wedding, the language of flowers, herbal bouquets and decorations, and how-to information for many herbal projects including bouquets, favors, and gifts. The use of herbs for a wedding has become so popular, many florists are now getting regular requests from their clients to include herbs in the bridal bouquet and other decorations. Herbs such as lavender and rosemary are widely available through a florist, but the book also contains information on growing some of the lesser known wedding herbs such as Meadowsweet (Queen Elizabeth I favored this flowering herb with the scent of vanilla).Herbal Weddings features herbal crafts, floral arrangements, and delicious recipes, all portrayed in beautiful color photographs. Just a sampling of what you will find inside includes:Herbal lore and legends. The language of herbs and flowers.Decorations for the ceremony and reception.Gifts and favors including tussie-mussies, floralwater, lavender wands, pomanders, scented paper, and rose beads.Recipes for the wedding feast including Salmon and Dill Profiteroles, Renaissance Herb Tart, Pansy Ravioli, Herb-Roasted Pork Tenderloin with Calvados Sauce and Autumn Vegetables, Crusty Tomato-Herb Baguette, Rosemary-Orange Tea Biscuits, Lemon-Lavender Sugar Cookies, and Chocolate-Mint Cake. For anyone looking for something unique in their wedding celebration, this book is a real treasure.
