The Funny Bride Guide Review

The Funny Bride Guide

As a male, I am totally ignorant of wedding etiquette. I have a sister-in-law who is to be married shortly, so I went looking for some assistance. Admittedly, I am intimidated by the whole affair so I wanted a book that would not add anymore pressure. I looked through several books, which not only further intimidated me, but reinforced the fact that I am completely out of my element. I was about to throw in the towel when I picked up The Funny Bride Guide. As frustrated as a wedding inept male can get, I began to laugh at the first page. I continued laughing through the day as I finished reading the book. I was so relieved and pleased I went and purchased another copy for my soon to be sister-in-law. She has thanked me non-stop for alleviating some stress with the use of The Funny Bride Guide. Thank you very much to the ladies who were so considerate of a man who only wants to do whats right with the least amount of pain. Kudos!

I was recently faced with the challenge of finding a special way to celebrate my grandparents' fiftieth wedding anniversary, while still honoring their request of no gifts. So, I set out to the Internet and happily discovered Ms.Kring's Happy Anniversary!
I was immediately taken with the effortless and engaging writing and found the book a joy to read. A particularly interesting aspect of the book was the explanations of anniversary traditions and etiquette. Ms. Kring offers the reader numerous creative and charming ideas for planning clever theme parties that are bound to be the backdrop to cherished memories.
Thanks to Happy Anniversary! I was able to give my grandparents a token of my love without cluttering their closets. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a thoughtful, imaginative, and memorable way to celebrate any momentous occasion.

Dress Rehearsal Review

Dress Rehearsal

Lauren is the Vera Wang of wedding cake design. She owns a hip boutique and has an uncanny knack for determining a couples' potential for staying together based on the cake that they choose. Her best friend after all chose the wrong cake and ultimately the wrong groom. When her other close friend makes a near disastrous decision, it is up to Lauren to rescue her from making the same mistake.
Enter ex-boyfriend Neil. He and his fiance show up at her boutique and he chooses the cake that Lauren has already determined will be her cake. Did she make a mistake eight years ago when she sent Neil packing? Despite being in the early throes of a new relationship with marriage-shy divorce lawyer Charlie (who she has so much in common with, including clients), Lauren entertains the idea of pursuing a relationship with Neil before he ties the knot. At the same time, she is trying to launch a wedding cake book, set her friend Paige up with a more appropriate guy, deal with a temperamental head cook, and determine if happily ever after means marriage.
Witty and insightful, I thoroughly enjoyed the book, except for that ambiguous ending. It just seemed to be missing something!

Be Particular!
This is the perfect.... perfect read for a ride on a plane, train, or while sitting under the hair dryer. Laughing/Snorting/Chortling is not optional. The humor is brisk and the writing sharp, but not mean-spirited.
I'll give this book to a friend that is undergoing chemo, to another that is plotting her extraction from a loveless marriage, and to my accountant. All three will enjoy Ms. Browne's take on the world through her rhinestone encrusted cat-eyed sunglasses.
