Among the wonderful tips:
--Serve a less expensive meal to guests
--Order fewer flowers
--Buy a non-designer dress
--Borrow your ring pillow from a friend
--Get a photographer to cover just a few hours of the reception instead of staying the entire time

(More customer reviews)This book was a little to girly for my husband and I. He gagged at most of the idea's presented in the book. I did think the book had a few interesting basic ideas, that with some creative thought and know - how could become more suitable decorations. I don't think many people would create exact replicas of the decorations in the book because most of them are a little out-dated and almost any groom would turn their nose up at them. I think just flipping through it in a book store is enough, in fact I never used my copy of the book. If your looking to make your own wedding decorations I suggest buying an actual craft leaflets (like The Complete Wedding Floral Book, by Leisure Arts) which you can get at your local craft store. These leaflets were what I used for my own wedding, and they where ten times more helpful than any wedding decoration book I have come across.

(More customer reviews)I was extremely dissapointed with this book. Modern Bride has a history of keeping brides-to-be in the dark about budgeting ideas and ways to cut corners. They continually insist that everyone NEEDS a bridal consultant and that a wedding gown should only be purchased through an expensive private boutique. I found many other wedding books to be so much more helpful that I suggest looking around some more before buying this book. Denise Fields and Diane Warner are some authors who HAVE created some excellent books.
