Kitchen Krafts Cr?me 8-Ounce Artificial Flavoring, Bouquet Review

A giant bottle of murky liquid that tastes (kinda) like vanilla and lemon and possibly other unspecified flavors. What could possibly go wrong? You may want to consider using vanilla and lemons instead.

Wedding Cakes: The Beverley Way Collection (Volume 2) Review

Wedding Cakes: The Beverley Way Collection (Volume 2)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a nice addition to her first book Wedding Cakes: The Beverley Way Collection, and I would definitely give this book as a gift to brides or anyone interested in cake design. The cakes are outstanding and are shown in various sizes for those that need imagery to visualize various options. The cake designs are unique and the instructions are easily available from the author's website. The website address is found throughout the book as well as on the back cover.
I recommend using the Amazon's Look Inside function to get a feel for the book and the quality of the beautiful designs. The images are large and nicely presented. If you are a bride or wedding planner looking to wow wedding guests, or a cake decorator looking to show your skills, I think this is a good wedding cake idea resource/choice for you.
I think this is an inexpensive way to search for that perfect design. The cakes are stunning, the book is attractive yet inexpensive and the instructions are available from her website and are inexpensive. Thus, with these points in mind, I am giving this wedding cake book 5 stars.

Wilton Filigree Bridge and Stairway Set Review

Wilton Filigree Bridge and Stairway Set

I purchased this item to decorate a diaper cake for a baby shower, and it was very cute, strewn with pink silk flower petals. It's a little fragile, however, so transport and store it carefully!

This creative, three-piece cake topper is truly a stairway to heaven. Two filigree-look stairways made of durable plastic take six steps toward a plastic platform that unites them in a setting that holds the bride and groom figurines (not included). The bridge-and-stairway set can be used to connect two cakes for an intimate wedding, two satellite cakes to the main tiered wedding cake, or whatever configuration your imagination can create. Once the set is assembled, it simply lays on top of the two cakes. Decorations such as continuous flowers or heavy figurines may necessitate affixing the ends of the staircases to the cakes with a drilled hole and dowel rod. Each stairway measures 161/4 inches long, while the platform measures 4-3/4 by 5 inches.

The Wedding Cake Decorator's Bible: A Resource of Mix-and-Match Designs and Embellishments Review

The Wedding Cake Decorator's Bible: A Resource of Mix-and-Match Designs and Embellishments
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I gave it 4 stars because it generally met my needs. Objectively speaking:
Pros:
* This book has clear and detailed instructions for executing cake decorations which are suitable not only for wedding cakes but also for other special occasion cakes.
* Pictures and illustrations accompany each step of the procedures and templates are provided when needed.
* A (long) list of tools and equipment is supplied
* Designs are basic and classic - not trendy
Cons
* Many designs and techniques require specialized tools and equipment such as molds, cutters, gumpaste/clay extruders
* Few pictures of finished cakes. The book really just gives instructions on decorating techniques. How to put them together on a cake is left to the reader's/cake designer's artistry
* Does not include directions for creating sugarpaste figures like people, animals, shoes, and bags, which are currently very on trend in the cake industry. No discussion on trends like carved cakes or whimsical cakes.
* Only 5 mediocre recipes. Relies on commercial premade fondant and gumpaste.
* No color mixing chart - one of the most frequent charts cake designers refer to
Recommended for
* Cake professionals looking for a handy reference for classic cake decorating techniques
* Cake pros or committed novices wanting to learn classic cake decorating techniques through self study/practice
* Hobbyists and committed home decorators who regularly make cakes for friends and family
Not recommended for
* Occasional home bakers unless they're loaded with cash and are prepared to spend - list of equipment is extensive!
* Cake designers looking for trendy, modern techniques
* Complete novices. Instead would recommend books like The Home Guide to Cake Decorating by Jane Price or books by Debbi Brown

Wedding Cake To Turin Review

Wedding Cake To Turin
Average Reviews:

I enjoy a british chic book but this one is sooo absurd and ridiculous from start to finish. the heroine has no redeeming qualities about her. The plot makes no sense. Why would a magazine PA escort a wedding cake???! It was just too many weird thing happening that were so improbable. I could not relax and read this book because something was always happening to her and her inner dialogs were frantic and desperate. Sometimes I would have to go back several pages to figure out what happened. There was no chemistry between the main characters, no development of emotions. He just loved her at first sight!! On top of that he's a mobster who smuggles drugs and guns. not very heroic. Her boyfriend cheats on her and she still wants to marry him??? There was no description of the heroine so you couldn't imagine what she looked like much less felt. But she takes valium like candy, drinks to excess, curses 4 letter words, weak willed, afraid of planes, helicopters, horses etc... If you want a good british chic book read Jill Mansell. Now that's a modern day Bridget Jones.

We've used these twice to make kransekake & they work very well. We had no experience, but had no problems at all. The recipe that comes in the box with the pans is also very good.

Honor a beloved heritage with this six-piece Kransekake ("ring cake") form, which offers a simple way to create an authentic version of the towering Norwegian and Danish delicacy. Traditionally made with almonds, sugar, and egg whites and served at weddings, baptisms, Christmas parties, or New Year's Eve celebrations, the special-occasion cake also makes a tasty centerpiece at family reunions or everyday events. Even more, it fosters a natural and hands-on way to introduce children to the special traditions cherished by their ancestors.
Solidly crafted of heavy-duty tin for durable use from one holiday to the next, the form comes with various pieces that unite to create 18 concentric rings for building a pyramid-shaped cake. The pieces can withstand an oven's heat up to 400 degrees F, and their nonstick-coated surfaces quickly release the cake circles once cooled--particularly important when baking such thin, delicate rings. Best of all, the form cleans up effortlessly by hand with warm, soapy water, and its stackable design stores compactly between uses. Accompanied by complete instructions for making and frosting a Kransekake cake, the form measures 11 by 11 by 1 inches.

for Your Wedding Cakes Review

Average Reviews:

This book is very good for getting ideas of different designs for your wedding cake. If you'er looking for a more instructional book on how to decorate the cakes, this book is not it. However the pictures of the cakes are beautiful with little or no information about the number of servings, decorations etc. It is exactly what it says Cakes for you wedding. Just a book of pictures for ideas. If this is what you're looking for then this book will do.
